What is Sepiolite?
Sepiolite is a fibrous hydrous magnesium silicate, usually white, light gray, light yellow and other colors, opaque and dull. Some of them are shaped like clods, some are shaped like a strange crust or tubercle. Under the electron microscope, they can be seen as sheets of countless filaments gathered together. Sepiolites have a strange property, they absorb a lot of water and become soft when they encounter water, and then harden again when dry.

Sepiolite is rich of magnesium fibrous silicate clay mineral, the mainly chemical composition is (Si) and the magnesium (Mg) composes for the silicon, often assumes compact massive, earthy or fibrous, generally assumes the white, the gray or slightly brings the light red, dark green and brown. The adsorption performance and the heat-stable performance are excellent, thermostable and the electric insulation performance is good, the shrinkage is low, it's not easy to crack, as well as anti-salinity higher special performance.
Physical property:
The ore assumes clayey, the pellet is very thin, the naked eye is very difficult to distinguish, the color many to be pessimistic, or be brown. The sepiolite content is 20 generally--40%, other impurities are the quartz, the talc, the calcite and so on. This kind of ore reserve is rich, the application is widespread. The color is changeable, white majority, but also has light yellow, is light gray, is dark green, is not transparent, feel agglutination, the volume is big, proportion 2-2.5, non-toxic,  tasteless ,  harmless , incombustible, the highest heat resistant 1750 degrees, the water-absorptivity in 1.5 times which is self-possessed, the catalysis, the absorptive quality is good.
